Chalkboard walls forever!

Got inspired & drew this up in about 15 minutes. It’s nice to glance over from my desk & have the reminder that I can do whatever I want. :)

#PRFail 1: Use pictures of visible humans to promote your products.

Dear PR Account Manager who just sent me the above photo,

I hear you’re selling jeans. Very, very popular jeans. So popular, in fact, that one Ms. Mary-Kate Olsen was caught wearing them. This is a girl who is famous for outfits, and famous for using staple elements of her wardrobe repeatedly as long as the piece is at all relevant. Jeans? Pretty relevant. Yet, for some reason, you decide that the above photo is the one destined to hit home with the internet public. Or was I, the blogger, supposed to be impressed with this sartorial exposition? Because I’m not. In fact, that may be one of the worst photos that I’ve received for “promotional consideration.”

What the hell are you promoting? Your ability to slap jeans on girls who need phonebooks to see over the steering wheel? Are you promoting the elasticity of the jeans, as you can obviously accomplish frustrating & illogical tasks while wearing them? I’m so sure, also, that Ms. Olsen would be beyond flattered to see this shining example of her persona flying around the internet. Thanks for including me in your attempts to completely disregard someone’s privacy & dignity because they’ve been famous since before they could speak, and you need to sell your $300 jeans. Lemme just write this full feature up real quick.

Bravo, PR. Congratulations on insuring that I never, ever post this photo (and potentially any others you send across) on any of my influential websites. /egobutmostlytruthletsbereal

This post is a part of a 100 Post Challenge. My topic? Cynical diatribes. Yeah, you’re in for a real treat.

Lindsay Radio

As you probably know by now, I am obsessed with Spotify, and would gladly give them my first born if I planned on having children, which I don’t.  Gross.  Anyway.

Recently, they unleashed a harem of third party apps that promised to improve your Spotify experience and so far they’ve all delivered.  My most recent obsession is their Soundrop “rooms,” which are like a user-hosted chatroom that plays one of your playlists, and allows the user’s friends to listen along, as well as control the song-order and add songs to the playlist.  It’s pretty gratifying.  I like it more than I like Filtr for Spotify, which has been more like dating someone with ADD lately, so my eyebrow is raised but I still like it.

So now I can indulge my ego 24/7 in my own ~~special room dedicated to whatever I want.  The link to the room can be shared, and it seems to remain the same no matter how many times you use the application – so I can make annoying graphics like the one at the top of this post, and pressure people into letting me control their auditory space from anywhere in the world.  Technology is an ego-enabling beautiful thing.

Insta-Addict

Instagram finally released an application for Android phones, so naturally, I am already on it – slowly achieving my goal of polluting the internet with pictures of my snacks and bus stops.

We can be stalking buddies.  You can find me on Instagram under @TheMissile, or you can follow my Tumblr if you don’t have a phone that is smart.

Yes, that’s correct.

For reference, the keywords I’m using in my Filtr playlist (which is excellent, by the way) are…

(All links are Spotify links)

This combo has produced a seriously satisfying lounge-downtempo playlist that you can find here.

I’ve been messing with Filtr a lot lately and really, really like it! I would recommend it as Spotify’s answer to iTunes Genius.
